Human nature does not like change. We like stability. Change is scary. Change is unknown. It’s a lot easier to stay with the status quo, to stay with what we know. That’s true for everyone, of all ages. The problem, of course, is that our world is constantly changing. I don’t know if there’s a good way to measure how fast the world is changing, but it sure feels like it’s changing faster than ever before, doesn’t it?
As you may have guessed, surmised or even heard changes are coming to The Why Church. I promise you that NONE of these up coming changes were made lightly. Everyone involved has prayed and fervently sought God's direction and leading.
One important thing to remember is our one constant in the midst of rapid change is God the Creator. Despite the fact that everything on earth changes, God declares when speaking to the prophet Malachi: “For I, the Lord, do not change...” One of the attributes of God is that He is Immutable... meaning that He never changes. God is the only person that is not subject to change. His nature never changes. (Malachi 3:6)
Everything else is changing, but the Lord God and Creator of the universe remains the same. This gives us confidence in the midst of these troubling and changing times. The greatest security against the disorientation and disruption of change is our reliance on the unchanging God. He is faithful to all His promises. No matter what changes may come in our life or on this earth, you can depend on Him to fulfill what He promised. Apostle Paul said: “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Corinthians
