Who am I? This question drives just about every action we take, every decision we make, and ultimately, everything we do.
We are born with an innate desire to belong. As an infant, the perfect picture of belonging is being cradled in your parent’s arms, fully embraced and cooed at as your eyes flutter shut in complete contentment. Not a care in the world, as everything you could ever need is right in front of you. This idyllic picture is not reality for many and certainly not reality as you grow up.
The Bible tells us that we are a Child of the King. In Galatians 4:6-7 (NIV)
6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.
As a child of a king can enter his father’s presence no matter how the child looks. You have access to the king anytime, anywhere, and best of all you have his promise that Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV)
