As a pastor God places gives me the opportunity to help, work with and share in the lives of many different people. Most of these people are totally devastated by one common thing SIN. Sin in their life or sin in the life of someone they love that is destroying everything.
Today I visited a young lady would was given a short time to live (5 days) and she knows it. Her life was cut short all because of sin. Some of her first words to me was my _________ (sin) destroyed my life and I never thought this would happen to me. Sin is a destroyer. It destroys you personally, it destroys your relationships, especially your relationship to God. As I talked with her tears continuously filled her eyes because she is full of regret and quilt. Sin left this beautiful young woman dyeing full of regret and guilt. I did not get to talk with her family but if I did my guess would be they are been broken and damaged by this woman's sin. Sin effects not only your life but the life of everyone around you. Sin is a destroyer which is why God hates sin.
Yet another person I have been dealing with has a husband who is demanding that he be allowed to have an affair. This sin is devastating this woman and there marriage.
Make no doubt about it. Sin is a destroyer and it has a various appetite. One sin makes it easier to commit the next sin and the cycle is repeated over and over again until you find yourself and the people around you totally broken with a life fully of regret and guilt.
If you are reading this it is not to late for you. Right now pray and ask God to forgive you and to help you to break the cycle of sin.
