Are You Living Like You Love Jesus?
Most Christians would say, without hesitation, “Yes, I love Jesus.”
But Scripture gently presses us to ask a deeper question:
Does the way I live reflect that love?
Jesus Himself made the connection unmistakably clear:
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
— John 14:15
Loving Jesus is not merely a feeling we carry in our hearts or a belief we affirm with our words. It is something that takes shape in how we live each day.
Love That Goes Beyond Words
It is possible to speak about Jesus often and still keep Him at arm’s length in daily life. True love for Christ moves beyond confession and into commitment.
Living like we love Jesus shows up in:
- how we treat people, especially those who are difficult
- how we speak when no one is applauding
- how we forgive when it costs us something
- how we obey even when it is inconvenient
Love is proven not by intention alone, but by action.
A Life Shaped by Obedience
Obedience is not a way to earn Jesus’ love—it is a response to it. When we truly love someone, we care about what matters to them.
Jesus said:
“Why do you call Me ‘Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46)
This is not condemnation; it is an invitation. Christ calls us into a life that reflects His heart—humble, compassionate, faithful, and surrendered.
Grace That Changes How We Live
Living like we love Jesus does not mean living perfectly. We will stumble. We will fall short. But love for Christ leads us back to Him again and again with repentant hearts.
The apostle Paul wrote:
“The love of Christ compels us.” (2 Corinthians 5:14)
Grace does not excuse us from transformation—it empowers it. When we encounter Jesus’ love, it changes our priorities, our desires, and the direction of our lives.
A Question Worth Asking
This is not a question meant to produce guilt, but reflection:
- Does my life point people toward Jesus?
- Do my choices reflect trust in Him?
- Is my love for Christ visible in how I live?
Loving Jesus is not about perfection—it is about direction.
Living Love Out Loud
To live like we love Jesus is to let His love shape our words, our actions, and our hearts. It is choosing faithfulness over comfort, obedience over convenience, and compassion over indifference.
May we not only say that we love Jesus—but live in a way that makes it unmistakably clear.
